it is this time of year certin diffrent types of clothes you wear is one thing that keeps the shock up .. getting out of your car is a big time shock because of certian faberics especially in women and another factor is the humidity level in your house if you dont have a humidifyer that will help with your house the shocking in the car it sounds stupid but shake your hands before you get out of the car and touch metal it helps alot of the time

There are lots of materials that are more likely to build up a static charge than others. Look for patterns in what you are wearing when you get shocked, perhaps a particular kind of sweater or pair of shoes.

TV screens build up a lot of static charge and everyone will get shocked touching it. Anticipate it and use wadded up cloth to minimize.

I once had a car that used a certain type of tire that caused me to get electric shocks every time I got out of the car. They were painful and it was literally every time. I started touching things with my sleeves pulled over my hands. I eventually sold the car because of the problem (an acura integra) but I've been told that I could have just bought a different type of tire.

Could be the shoes you are wearing, if they aren't rubber soled then every time you touch something with a static charge (TV screen, outside of a car etc.) you'd discharge it through yourself.

Plus it's possible that you only notice it, when it happens to you, so it seems like it happens more than does.

Either way, rubber soled shoes like trainers will sort you out if it gets that bad :P

It could mean that your house is dry. You can get a humidifyer for that. Also, do you use fabric softener when you wash and dry your clothes, could mean that your clothes are too dry and when you move around in your clothes it creates friction resulting in a spark.

Turn up your humidifier. It means your house is dry.
