My third and next planned tattoo will be that of my daughters name. I want to get her name tattooed on the inside of my wrist. When I look down at my wrist, I want to be able to see her name and smile. But my question is that should I have her name written so that I can see it, or should it be written as to where other people can read it? If I get it tattooed as to where other people can read it, it will look upside down to me. So which way is appropriate? Tattooed so I can read it, or tattooed so other people can read it?

I have my son's name tattooed on the inside of my wrist facing me. I love it! I see it all the time. I dont care what people who will see it for 5 seconds think of it. I have never had anyone tell me it is facing the wrong way. I DEFINITELY recommend getting it facing you. You are the one who will see your daughters name there until the day you die. Oh and another thing, try writing her name on each wrist. One facing you and one facing out... and re-write it for a few days and see which you prefer before you get it permanently.

I think facing you. When you wave at people, it will be facing them too. There's a way of writing that reads the same right side up as it does upside down (there's an example in the book Angles and Demons by ... I forgot his name... the author of The DaVinci Code) altho it is a little difficult to make out, and you may need to explain to some people what it says.

Like all tattoos, it is personal preference. I think what you said about being able to read it is really sweet and you should go with that. If anyone ever says anything to you about it, just tell them why you did it that way. No one can argue with a mother's love.

tattooed so other people can see it is the general way people do it. but you can do whatever you want to. just be prepared to explain why your tattoo looks the way it does. my sister in law got a small pink heart tattooed on her foot, she got it facing her so when anybody else looks at it, well it looks like nuts. i call her nuts foot. she is going to get it covered up with another heart.

I would say to do it where YOU can read it....the tattoo is for YOU. If other people want to read what it says, they can come around and look.

Since the tattoo is for YOU, I firmly believe you should get it done so that its right side up to you. You should be able to read it easiest

It all depends on the meaning of the tat. In your case I would defiantly say facing you because it is personal. If it is another language than it really doesn't matter. Good luck tats are great!!!!

Put it so that you can read it.

It's on your wrist so when you show it off you're just going to hold up your arm to show it anyway.

Since it's personal for you, make it so you can easily read it...you can always hold your arm up to others if they wish to read it or you want to show it off...

If you want to look down and smile, I would have it facing you....silly!!! If you want other people to read it first, have it facing them...
