I fell for someone who is under the age of 18 but he will be soon. But if anyone found out about us dating could they get me on statutory rape if we dont have sex? We are not sexual, and i don't intend to be until I am ready which is not now.

No, of course not. But just to be safe maybe you should wait to really date until he's 18

First of all, each state has their own age limits on statutory rape. You may want to check the web for the law in your particular state. Secondly, if you haven't had sexual relations with your boyfriend, you are not guilty of statutory rape. In Michigan, the age is 16.

Not sure what your local laws are and you don't say where you live, but in Ohio, the age of consent is 16. However, there are also laws that prevent contributing to the delinquency of a minor. If you are concerned about what could happen if you have sex with him, aside from you becoming pregnant, wait until he is 18.

No, but probably best to cool things until he is 18. Have a great day.

No, you can't get in trouble.
Why are you dating someone 7 years younger than you though?
I just turned 24 and I can't imagine dating someone that young.
