just watched a program on the discovery channel last night and one things they said was his arms are to long. but when they nailed Jesus to the cross wouldn't they have pulled his arms out socket ?or just the gravity pulling down on his body while his hands were nailed there that would have stretched his arms as well? making them look longer than a normal person

now i don't my self don't know what to think of shroud of Turin but i was just amazed that nobody addressed this

Yes, you are absolutely right. Some documentaries address this... It is just the biased ones that want us to believe the Shroud was a fake... I believe the image was made with the real blood shed of Jesus Christ.

The shroud also shows that it was the wrists and feet (ankles) that were nailed to the wood (this needed to happen to support his body). Imagine the pain and torment he suffered when he had to breath in and out and the pressure it put on his entire body.

For an unbeliever 'The Shroud' simply cannot be real b/c there is no Christ to them. But some amazing FACTS still are left to ponder. Most pics of the Crux. show the nail prints in His hands while this has them in His wrists, a very uncommon assumption. Also, SCIENTISTS have found the actual depression in The Shroud of Jesus' facial structure which wuld be extreme detail for a painter. Some scientists said the electromagnetic impressions of reverse negative means the artist would have to have had a 'camera-like' instrument to have created this effect. Carbon dating was thrown off by the fire they showed. But for us it still is a matter of FAITH, to believe or not to believe, that is the question.

It is a fake. For one thing the image is a stereotypical WASP version of Jesus - like the ones typically painted during the Renaissance, and not a Jew of the time.

And studies have shown it could have been that nails were driven through the hands and feet -not necessarily ankles and wrists.. There was a support block under the feet that would allow weight to not be pulling, and there also could have been ropes binding as well. As one crucifixion site they found a heel bone with a nail driven through it.

There is a lot of controversy about the shroud of turin. Whenever someone tries to pass something off like this I see what scripture says about Jesus and His crucifixion.

1. Psalm 22:17 says, " I can count all my bones;
people stare and gloat over me. "

The result of the scourging Jesus took was that pieces of flesh were ripped from his body. You could see His bones. I don't see anywhere in the shroud of seeing any of Jesus' bones.

2. Isaiah 50:6 says "I offered my back to those who beat me, my cheeks to those who pulled out my beard; I did not hide my face from mocking and spitting. "

In the shroud it shows Jesus with a beard, but Isaiah, which is a prophecy of Jesus' crucifixion states His beard was plucked out.

3. John 20:6,7 says "Then Simon Peter, who was behind him, arrived and went into the tomb. He saw the strips of linen lying there, as well as the burial cloth that had been around Jesus' head. The cloth was folded up by itself, separate from the linen"

the bible is clear that Jesus was buried in two separate cloths, and they were folded up away from each other. One for the body and one for the head. The shroud has it as one piece.

Not to mention the Bible says that Jesus was unrecognizable as a man, mostly from the scourging and the beating, but the shroud shows whoever that is as very recognizable.

Carbon dating showed that the shroud was in fact in a fire in the 14th century. Besides carbon dating is a flawed joke anyway. Just google it.
The shroud is the burial cloth of Jesus.
Most all the tests allowed on the shroud were done by jews. In fact the show you watched was probably produced by jews.
Too much bias, if you ask me.

The shroud of Turin has been thoroughly debunked. A crucified man wasn't nailed through the hands but through the wrist between the ulna and radius but the body weight would have been supported by the nail driven through the ankles.

that makes total sense if you think about it.

But, I thought that the shroud had been discredited.

It is a piece of cloth, why worry about it. Faith isn't about a piece of cloth. It's about a personal relationship with a personal savior.

Did you know the image of the back and front do not line up?!

The image of his back is 2 inches shorter then the front.

How are you going to apologize for that?
