Yes, these things are available. Try writing a note right now that explains that you have a hospital phobia, that you would like whatever calming and numbing meds are available, and that they need to double check with you to make sure you are alright because you tend to clam up because you are so nervous. That way, you can just hand it to them and they will have all the info necessary.

If you have a hospital phobia and you think you may need to visit one again, see a hypnotherapist to help you to overcome the phobia and help you to calm yourself naturally. Yellow Pages will give lcal info and you could send off for brochures to find out qualifications, charges, ways of working etc.

some hospitals will give you a pill to make you more calm but not often. ithink its down to the hospital in general. i too get very anxious about needles and had 8 ops so far and 6 would not give me the pill. in fact one nurse remarked that i was dopey enough already......married her three yrs later lmao

well first of all nurses dont usually offer all these great things just because...im sure if you make it a point there are things that can be done to make you more comfortable but a closed mouth doesnt get fed..nurses are just people not mind readers hundreds of people come through there on a day to day basis and not every one has a huge fear like this..you are an individual with individual needs but you must point them out so it brought to the attention of the people taking care of you

Ask your doctor about an exercise routine. Regular exercise, such as walking three times a week, may reduce neuropathy pain, improve your muscle strength and help control blood sugar levels. Gentle routines such as yoga and tai chi might also help.
