My family and I have been looking for a male English Bulldog. We have tried shelter, rescue foundations, newspapers, petstores and vets. All of the ones we have found cost a fortune. Any suggestions?

You can't expect quality for less then a fortune unfortunately.
Also Keep checking shelters your patience can pay off.

I ran into the same thing. I couldn't find an English Bulldog for under $1800. Good luck. They're just expensive dogs. Rare in shelters (except in some of your larger states like NY and Cali), however you might look for a breed-specific rescue. A lot of bullies end up needing new homes, but it's usually because they have health issues (same applies to pugs, which I ended up getting instead). Bullies are extremely expensive to own as well as they are very commonly the victims of skin infections, breathing problems, hip problems, etc... again, like pugs.
Good luck... but be sure to do a lot of research on the breed to make sure you're ready for what you're getting yourself into. They're lovely dogs... but can be very high maintenance in the vet bills department. If you still want one after researching it, look up the AKC site and see if they have breeder referrals in your area... but you're not gonna find one cheap.

I'm an english bulldog breeder, and your not going to find one for cheap. I you do theres probably something severly wrong with it; most bulldogs run 2500-3000 dollars, if you want one bad enough, you'll have to pay the price. You should also know they develope eye problems easily, as well as gain wait, and a varity of other things.

you will never find a cheap english bulldog. This breed next to the pug are very expensive. But the love you get out of these breeds are well worth it. Try www.livedeals.com you might find what your looking for in that breed. Good Luck

Go to a rescue. They might not be cheap, but the animals are well taken care of by the rescue (if reputible) before adoption. They are vet-checked from nose to tail, vaccinated, dewormed, etc.
"If you cannot afford to acquire the animal, you sure cannot afford to keep it" is what I go by.
Good Luck!

Try going to the American Kennel Club website. It may help guide you to breeders in your state and then you can narrow it down by town and area. Hope I could help!

They are an expensive breed, so they will cost a lot. That is just how it is. If you find a CHEAP one...there might be a reason!!!
