Um... no. I got married in a court house. My marriage is quite valid, thank you.

My daughter and son n law had a child before marriage. They wanted a wedding. The Pastor said that if He would perform the wedding ceremony, they would have to separate (not live together) first. Or, they could go to the Justice of the Peace first, then he would perform the wedding ceremony.
Well, my daughter and son n law went before the Justice of the Peace. And they were married. Two years later, they had their wedding. I am glad for the wedding because of the family blessing, the Pastors blessing, and mostly God's blessing. More blessings in a church wedding. The wedding ceremony was very Christ centered.
God will bless a JP marriage, if couple look to God & receive from God in it. But, a Church wedding, centered in Christ, is more blessing.
What will make a marriage Holy is couple making their marriage vows before God.

- The church as it relates to a building isn't what makes a marriage sacred. A church building is only as "holy" as the people in it. It is simply a place where we as believers come together to learn, worship, & fellowship.
- A marriage is sacred whether or not the ceremony takes place in a church building or a public park because it is an institution founded by the Word of God.

Location does not make marriage holy. God is as much in the church as outside it.
Whether a priest or government official presides over the wedding also does not make it any more or less holy.

Not in my opinion. I think that if your heart is where it should be when you get married, God will know and see that and bless your union. If you are a liar and an idiot and you still get married within the rules of the church, God will see that as well and it will not make a difference, your marriage will not be blessed.

Wow, that's a total personal call. You don't need to be married in a church but I felt that I should be married by a minister in order to have my marriage be valid before God. That was just my feelings. You have to follow your own heart.

No, just as long as you go before God and a group of people, and the marriage is between a man and a woman, it is holy in the eyes of God.

No. Marriage is blessed no matter where you get married. Marry at your own home if possible. That is a wedding i would have.

Ever heard of a Justice of the Peace? You can be married by a ship's captain at sea, by an official of government, by a priest, whatever,
