It depends on the kind of girl you have, you should be able to listen to her and see what she prefers. In my own opinion, I like when my b/f texts me some of the time. It makes it easier to talk because when you talk on the phone to often then you loose topics to talk about. Theres only so many times in a day when "So babe, how's your day going?" will work. lol Also, you can have more free time to do whatever you were doing before with out being interrupeted with having to hold the phone and actually pay attention to someone.

Better to call most of the time but not all the time.Because if you call your girlfriend all the time she might think you are guarding her and she can feel suffocated too.Also it's good to miss each other's voice once in a while.And some are better to be sent in text form too,
like poetry,word of wisdom,etc.So you can text her too from time to time.
