Main Entry: ir·re·gard·less
Pronunciation: "ir-i-'gärd-l&s
Function: adverb
Etymology: probably blend of irrespective and regardless
nonstandard : REGARDLESS
usage Irregardless originated in dialectal American speech in the early 20th century. Its fairly widespread use in speech called it to the attention of usage commentators as early as 1927. The most frequently repeated remark about it is that "there is no such word." There is such a word, however. It is still used primarily in speech, although it can be found from time to time in edited prose. Its reputation has not risen over the years, and it is still a long way from general acceptance. Use regardless instead.

of course.

Does anyone actually argue that it is anything other than a religion?

Yes it is. Everyone but a Christian might tell you that Christianity is the study of God Himself. It is not. Christianity is a Christians way of learning about God. People think that the Spaniards came to America and spread Christianity throughout America. Actually they spread Catholicism. True it was one of the first religios in America, but a lot of religions developed from people knowing that it is wrong, and there was more yet that were wrong after they developed from Catholicism. You know the verse that says "Repent ye and be baptized"(The actual verse escapes me)? If you look in the Batpists version of the bible, all you will find is "Repent". E-mail me if you have any more questions about Christianity. And because I am stating that Christianity is a religion, I will probably get lots of thumbs-down ratings, mainly beacuse most of the U.S. is something other than Christian.

EDIT:Plus look at the root word of Christianity. It's the same as Jesus' name:Christ. His name isn't Jesus Cath, it's not Jesus Bapt or whatnot, it's Christ. That is actually the foundation of my unbreakable belief, since I thought as a child that that was all I needed to believe. Now I have other supports in that foundation, but it still remains the foundation.

Christianity is NOT a religion. Christianity is the belief that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. Religions are organizations based on a belief such as Catholics, Protestants, Jews, Muslims, etc.

It has all the qualities of a religion, therefore it is a religion! It's like a guy saying, "MY car isn't a car! Stop calling it a car! OTHER people drive cars, but not ME... I drive an AUTOMOBILE!!!!" It is to laugh..

Please..."irregardless" is not proper English. "Regardless" is the word you want.

Regardless, why would you presume that any Christian does not think that Christianity is a religion? I have never heard any claim that.
