I am a 31 year old African American female that for the past year to year and a half I seem to find alot of hear in the sink, on the floor, and on my clothes. I have been to a couple of doctors and they can't find anything. I have even changed hairstylists! I think my current one is helping my hair. I hate to keep changing hairstylist. Is there any vitimans that are good for your hair? Or maybe an oil or grease for my dry scalp?

Hair Falling Off?
When the body is too acidic, hair falls off. When the body stays alkaline, hair recovers.

First step for falling hair: measure the pH.

This is done with a roll of pH paper. Tear off a small piece of pH paper, hold it in the urine stream and see the color changes of the paper. Compare the color with those on a color scale coming with the paper. The color tells you your pH urine. It should be 7.5 at all times in my experience. 7 is neutral, under 7 is acidic and negative for all organs.

Do same with saliva, but wait a bit longer for the saliva to penetrate the paper to complete the color change.

Best note the results with time and date in a table and also what you consumed, before measuring that day. Same with all measuring.

You will soon find that some foods, liquids, moods or environments make you more acidic, others more alkaline. After being alkaline for some time (both urine and saliva), you may see your hair improve and get thicker.

A man, partly bald, grew hair back on his bald areas within about 4 weeks. They came in by the bits, not like grass on a lawn, but they became denser and denser and stronger.

You can find more info on pH and what makes alkaline on http://www.biochakra.com - Hiltes, archive.

Your hair may grow back swiftly!

Well, I've been in the same boat many times. The process of relaxing your hair makes dry hair even drier, and it's prone to breakage.

First, the basics:

Black hair does not produce oils, so you have to keep it moisturized, without it being oily and gross. Ion makes a great reconstructive therapy deep conditioner. You should be using one once a week, with a heating cap.

Wrap your hair instead of curling it, whenever possible. You'll still get a great look, but without the extra stress of heating elements in your hair.

Always sleep in a scarf at night. Your hair will break off if its rubbing against the pillow case (although silk ones cause less breakage) and it'll dry out over night as well.

Prenatal vitamins will help your hair grow faster and thicker, but that means you'll have to get touch ups more often. Always go for the most gentle one you can find.

You didn't mention if you had colored your hair, but just in case, metallic colors DON'T mix with hair relaxers, no matter what it says on the box. Anything that has any kind of chemicals in it is going to make your hair fall out at the relaxer line. You have to stick with dyes that are made from non-acidic products, like Henna. Manic Panic is also a great line of gentle color agents, but in funky, vibrant colors.

Good luck.

I'm 25 and I have that same problem occasionally but you know, it's just something that happens to black women sometimes. It's not a bad thing but if you take vitamin E pills, use tea tree oil and also try that hairspray...Olive something, it's all green, you can't miss it, this will help to slow the shedding down. These have worked for me and hopefully it can for you too. Good luck!

I LOVE BioSilk Fruit Cocktail Restructuring Shampoo. It is sometimes difficult to locate, but I'm sure you could order it online or through a beauty supply if you're unable to find it in your area. I would recommend either that or a hot oil treatment.
