My 6 month old puppy loves natural yogurt, which she ate a few times in small doses. Is it ok to give her a small one sometimes?

Yes it is fine. Mine get it with their dinner every other day. They love it and it DOES NOT give them diarrhea. Active cultures are great.

Oh my gosh YES! All natural yogurt does the same thing for dogs as it does for humans. Plus, they LOVE it. Just be sure that its not flavored at all. Or if you wanna go the not so messy route, you can go to PetSmart and get these treats called yogurt drops. They are in an orange pouch with a little white dog on the front. All it is, is dried yogurt. Good luck!!

Yogurt is very good for dogs, especially those with finickey tummies. Yogurt has acidolphilus. I feed all of my dogs (3) a dollop of yogurt stirred into their food daily. Be sure to use only plain yogurt with the highest fat content available, usually 3 or 4 %. Cottage cheese is also very good. Both have a lot of protein.

Yogurt is fine for dogs... in fact it contains beneficial bacteria that aids in digestion. I was mixing it into my dog's dry food until it became too much hassle (and when I discovered it still didn't help any with my dog's coprophagia).

I'd just give it in small amounts though. Some dogs have more sensitive systems and anything unusual can make them sick (vomiting or diarrhea), however even my sensitive pug did fine with a few Tbsp of yogurt in every meal.

The acidophilus is the active bacterial culture in yogurt. It aids in general digestion. When dealing with animals that might have digestive problems it's actually helpful to give them unsweetened yogurt.

Even though it is a dairy product (which is not recommended to give to cats or dogs after they mature), the beneficial bacteria that yogurt contains makes it very digestible.

In cases where I'm house sitting a "owner missing" dog, I've mixed in yogurt with their regular food. This is probably the safest treat/mix to put in the food because it's not likely to mess with their digestive system.

Yes, plain yogurt without sweeteners is great for your puppy and for pregnant or nursing females.
Also, if you have to put your puppy/dog on an antibiotic for some reason, yogurt is most beneficial to give them so they will have good bacteria in their tummies while fighting the bad bacteria.

a spoonful daily will help with digestion...plain yogurt is a probiotic and feeds the good bacteria which the gut needs to be healthy...you should always give yogurt if your dog ever has to be on antibiotics as antibiotics kill all bacteria even the good ones so by giving yogurt you are settling the tummy and no side effects from the antibiotics....
i give my dogs a spoonfull every day....

Can't see anything wrong with it - our old Jack Russell loves it as well.

She also likes fresh fruit. We make sure that she doesn't eat to much of it so that she doesn't have the 'funny tummy' but I am sure that it is good for her. It was funny when she was given a grape that she had been begging for because we were eating them. Once it was in her mouth she had no idea what to do with it - until we broke it for her! Once she learnt that one she hasn't sopped eating them - and our vet thinks that she is in a great state!

Dogs are naturally scavengers and will eat whatever they can get hold of. If she is eating it then the chances are that it won't do her any harm.

Yogurt is actually good for dogs. The vet has told my mother to give her dog yogurt everyday because of a digestive disorder.

A little bit once a day is okay. I even believe they make dog food with yogurt in it. Also if you want to add fresh veggies into the dog food like carrots its good for them to. Dont give them onions though. I would stay away from fruit only because I dont know whats good and whats bad for them. I do know grapes are bad for them. Also dont give her pure chocolate. The only thing you have to worry about with dairy is it might make them go to the bathroom . Also it can sometimes give them worms. As long as you take her to the vet normally you dont have to worry about that.
Also make sure that when you do give your dog human food like veggies you put it in their dog food bowl, and dont free hand feed them, or everytime you eat the dog will beg.

Plain no sugar,no fruit yogurt is beneficial to dogs . Yogurt containing live culture(probiotics) adds good bacteria that aids in digestion(think less gas) and is beneficial to coat condition also.. A spoonful with each meal is good.
