Do you think it's rude for people to stand and ask you 20 questions about what you're eating for lunch? Like where did you get that sandwich, does it have mayo, and on and on with the questions while kind of leaning in sniffing. What do you do about it?

Honestly, I am making a face. How could anyone BE that rude to SNIFF your sandwich? I would suggest to offer them half, if you have a knife to cut it, but that is probably what they are trying to get you do, and I am NOT for rewarding rude behavior---so, I would answer the FIRST question nicely, and then change the subject if they keep talking about your sandwich. If they lean in to SNIFF, cover your sandwich and say, "Please!" Whilst giving them a horrified look.

And it IS very rude, because lunch time is a time for relaxing (and is very short for some!), not narrating your meal-time experience to someone!

I've never had the sniffing happen to me. OR the asking the ingredients but if the incident did happen to me I would simply get up to move to another table.

That is rude! I like to eat my lunch in peace and without nosy people around!

I put down my food, smile and tell them, "I'm sorry, can you come back after I finish eating? I have a digestive problem that causes projectile vomiting when people bother me while I eat. Do you think you can back later?"

It's never failed to work for me. ;-))
