My favorite language is Esperanto. I love the dream behind it, to promote world peace through everyone speaking the same neutral second language. I also love the fact that learning Esperanto has allowed me to speak to people from all over the world, from many different cultures, without falling prey to the world's opinion of US citizens at large, that we expect everyone to learn English.

The best language, in my opinion, is the one in which both the speaker and the listener (reader) can understand the message being sent.

So, I guess the best way to answer your question is to ask you another one:

"Who do you want to talk to?"

I originally speak Arabic but I think English is so easy. English is like a programming language. It is so easy that it seems suspicious to me.

Japanese so i wouldn't have to wait for the subs on Anime (i plan on learning that asap, actually).

Navajo, because it sounds really soothing, and I'm a fan of maintaining endangered languages

American Sign Language (esp if my friend spoke it) so we could talk from a distance without having to yell

the very best language? i don't know. they all pretty much have their ups and downs.
