Well whether anyone likes it or not, our children will most likely come in contact with spanish speaking people in their life, and it isn't going to hurt anything for then to know a little of the language, so long as they are learning English first and foremost. Also, it may interest you to know that it is much, much easier for children to learn a second language than it is for adults.

Seems like a lot of people answering this question suffer from the delusion that different groups are comfortable sharing power. Through all of human history, that has never happened; it is all about one group dominating over another. So the 'takeover' notion is definitely within the bounds of possibility. Ask Islamics and Ethiopeans about their current battles and see if they want to share power with each other.

or r we attacking children now? how ignorant can u be and did u vote for Bush back into to office too. our tax money is also paying for the war in IRAQ and most recently in my city, for 2 US firefighters who claimed they were reserves & were serving in iraq, truth is they were working on the side & still collecting paychecks paid by citizens. so no, i dont have a problem w/ my child learning a different language this way at least she'll be a step ahead of ignorant ppl like yourself.

Well, thats great and all to learn a new language but to use my tax money on producing shows that my child can't even understand yet(too young) is not really my idea of learning.

Besides when one gets in high school it's mandatory to take a foreign language class to get credit.(this I will happly support)

Instead of thinking it as a takeover and showing your racist colors, don't you think it'd be beneficial to your children in the long run to learn the second most spoken language in the WORLD, not just the United States?? Get with the program buddy. Let go of your ignorant close minded views open up to the new world.

You're so right to be alarmed, I mean, God forbid your child learns a different language while learning to be accepting of people who are different than them. But then again, perhaps you dont want your children learning this, after all, this would make them more tolerant and intelligent than there parents! How sad!
