heres the deal, my friend that is trying to teach me spanish, gave me a list of words she wants me to "look up" and translate, I would have used an online
translater, but we all know how those can be.
Please, only translate these words if you speak fluent spanish, I will be talking to an (only) spanish speaker, and I don't want any mistakes!
Best answer will be chosen A.S.A.P.

First of all, what country is your Spanish friend from? Each Spanish-speaking country has their own way of saying things. Secondly, the translation of words all depends on the context of the conversation. One word can be translated into many different forms.

1. like--In verb terms: amar; HOWEVER, when one likes someone or something, MOST Spanish speakers say that that person or thing PLEASES them. Therefore, if you want to say that you like someone or something or someone likes you or someone or something else, you would say "Ebony me gusta" (I like Ebony), "le gusto a Ebony" (Ebony likes me), "me gusta nadar" (I like swimming), "Maria le gusta a Jose" (Jose likes Maria), etc. In conjunction terms ("like a bird in the sky", for example): como.
2. Lo siento, perdoname, OR disculpame.
3. (Yo) lo se. ("Yo" is optional.)
4. Hace frio.
5. (to tell someone to physically go ahead): adelante
(to tell someone to continue): continua
6. Si es tan amable...("If you don't mind...")
7. Porque?
8. Tu fumas? (to a relative, classmate, coworker, friend, or peer); Fuma usted? (to an authority figure, like a teacher or professor, someone you've NEVER met, principal, dean, doctor, etc.)
9. Quieres jugar conmigo? (familiar); Quiere usted jugar conmigo (formal)
10. Ay, Dios Mio!
11. Otra vez
12. Me voy a volver, me voy a regresar, me volvere, OR me regresare.
13. Estas llevando bien. (fam.); Usted esta llevando bien. (form.)
14. "Puede" is the 3rd person present tense of the verb "poder" ("to be able to").
Yo puedo (I can)
Tu puedes (You can) (fam.)
El/Ella/Usted puede (He/she/you(form.) can)
Nosotros (m.)/Nosotras (f.) podemos (We can)
Ustedes/Ellos/Ellas pueden (You all OR y'all/they can)
"Ellos" and "ellas" mean "they"; if the people in third person are either ALL male OR include both male and female, use "ellos". HOWEVER, if they are ALL female, use "ellas".
