This riddle messes with a lot of people, especially when it is in the form of a man looking at a painting, because they think the man is talking about/looking at himself, but the answer is really his son and here's how you can break it down: If he were talking about himself he would say "this man is my father's son" and that would mean it was him, but in this case he says "This man's FATHER.." ( the father of the person in the coffin) "Is MY father's son" So just put that together and it is basically "The father of this dude in the coffin, is my father's son." And since the man has no brothers, his father's only son would have to be him and he is the father of the guy in the coffin, so...it is his son. I hope someone understands this : )
