My rates for that age are: $13 per child for anything over 4 hours. Also, if I keep the children for more than 4 hours after 7pm I charge $4 extra per child. So for 2 kids from say 7pm to 11pm would be a total of $32.

The teenager down the street from me charges folks between 5 and 10 dollars per hour. I don't know exactly how much work she gets.

I on the other hand usually watch the neighborhood kids for free.
Why, because I can't have any kids and this way we get to go do something fun (movies) or (McDonald's) or something while the parents are off doing something fun. In the summer even kids that are not in my charge come over and we play games that work on their balance / coordination.

Its not unusual in my neighborhood to have 15 kids all playing outside. We set up an obstacle course that they can do either on a bicycle, tricycle, roller blades or skate board. Plus lots of other fun things. You know you just have to keep those little minds active (preferably not in front of a TV or with video games).

Good Luck.
The other upside is that I get to give them back. Woohoo.

Most child care providers will already have a set amount in mind that you may be able to negotiate.

I'm in Ontario (Canada)
Have one child 3 yr old (in bed at 8 or 9)
babysitting starts about 6 usually
responsibilities are (feed), diaper, toy pick up, prep for bed, bed
Grade 9 sitter asks for $5 /hr
We also supply treats

My Daycare (The Y) charges $32.25 CND daily (Hrs 6-6) which includes meals. It's $11.50 CND to have a child age 6-12 after school.

You have to look at minimun wage in your area. I would say around $7-8/hr becase there are two children. But If your 10 year old is well behaved and can help out with the 3 year old, then maybe about $6.50/hr.

We pay $5 an hour, plus drinks and snacks. If it's during the dinner hour we leave money for pizza.

depending on experience and if cooking dinner is involved..etc.. i'd say 8.50-10 an hour. that is fair. expecially if the sitter is under 20 years old.
