I've spent about $4500. But, I don't think money is the issue. You should stop getting tattoos when you feel you have enough ink on your body. And even then, it shouldn't be based on the percentage of skin that is covered... it's when you feel complete.

I spent $75 for my first one, but my next one will cost near $1000 so I'm saving up and waiting. I have a rule about waiting a year to get a tattoo that I want (since I'm really fickle). After I get my second one, I'll start my year over again with another one that I've been thinking about. That third one will be probably only be $200-300.

If it is going to be permanently on your body, you'd better be willing to shell out the money for decent work. There is nothing sadder than getting a large, expensive piece to have it ruined by a poor artist.

I think as long as you can pay cash for them and arent hurting your other bills theres never too much. Id probably have spent that much if i had it to spen. Got too many bu=ills to pay though:) Ive spent 400 on 3 tattoos. And my husband spent about the same on 2. If you run out of room for tattoos and still want the money to go to tattoos sponsor me HE HE HE :)

well I got a tattoo a few years ago and did not pay money for it. Instead I traded with. I gave her my $350.00 registered Cocker spaniel for my tattoo that probably would have been about $200.00. But that is not the end of our business prop. I also in return got a puppy for $50, from the litter when they bred the cocker with theirs. So I guess I came out on the better end of the deal because I got the tattoo and a registered Cocker Spaniel puppy that they would have sold for $350.00.
Ithink when you reach about 5k you have spent too much on tattoos. But hey atleast you don't have to worry about it being stolen or lost.

So far I have only gotten one tattoo and it was $100. But I plan on getting more once I have enough money. I don't think there is a price limit on what is too much. You want to get a quality tattoo and have a tattoo artist that is refutable to do it. You get what you paid for.

So far I've spent $0. But I do plan on getting a small tattoo soon. Too much is when you can't afford it and use your money on tats instead of on actual living expenses.

I spent $90 on the 1st one and $120 on the 2nd one, still have 1 more to get and I'm sure it'll be the most expensive one b/c my daughter is drawing it and it's bigger than the other 2. As long as you're not taking out a 2nd mortgage on your house to pay for them, then however much money you spend for your tats is no big deal.

i have 3 tattoos i spent about $60 for each i think..my first tat was the worst one yet so that in its self was a waste they guy did it all wrong and even spelled my kids name wrong..did i mention its in color on my wrist? anyway i dont think you can judge how much is too much besides to each his own..more importantly its not the money but the way you look when all is said and done!

I have spent $0.00 on real tattoos. If I feel the urge to get a tattoo, I use the temporary ones you can buy at Wal-Mart, CVS, etc. They come out great and last about a month. That's enough for me. By then, I'm sick of the design anyway and ready to make a change.
