Depends on a couple of things...first of all does your foot look infected at all? Any redness, swelling, pain, warmth, or pus where you think the glass is indicates an infection. If this is the case, call your doctor. Not only do you need to have the glass removed, but you need a course of antibiotics as well.

If you don't see any sign the site is infected you can try soaking your foot in warm water with a little Epsom salt. The soaking softens the skin and can make getting the glass out. I would remove it just like you would a splinter: sterilize a needle with rubbing alcohol or a flame and try to gently work the glass loose. If the piece of glass is deep into your foot don't try to poke and prod around in there, you'll do more harm than good. You can try repeated soakings, twice daily and see if your body will naturally rid itself of the foreign object.

If all of the above fails you have no choice but to have a doctor or podiatrist remove the glass. Good luck.

If there are skin layers that have grown over the spot where the glass is, they need to be removed before you can get to the piece of glass.

Would advise you go to the doctor's, it's an easy outpatient visit and they have the tools to take care of this, such as a small forceps and clean scalpels, if needed. (not just a "heated" needle and a small tweezer).

1. You may have to cut through some thin layers of skin.
2. Soak. Hot. Long.
3. Mucho patience, good pain/discomfort tolerance, tweezers, flexible legs, good lighting.
4. Failing any of the above, see doctor.
5. Don't forget peroxide/neosporin/band-aid to reduce risk of infection.

Dig and Dig and Dig until you find it and get it out. Try soaking it for awhile and alternate between digging and soaking. You can try a drawing salve, but that dosent work too good with glass. If you dont get it out it will continue to bother you and it will get infected.
