What is the correct answer when your wife IS fat, and asks you this question?

She is your wife, she probably already knows she is fat but when she asks that she is probably worried that you are finding her less attractive and is more testing the water to see how you feel. If you feel she is putting on weight and really letting herself go talk to her and help her. If she is still beautiful in your eyes then tell her she is beautiful.

I used to do the same thing to my husband, I don't know why we do it but the honest question that she is trying to ask you is "Honey I know I've gained extra weight since we've met but I want to know if you are still attracted to me?" but we ask "Am I fat?" because we don't want to admit to ourselves that we have added some extra pounds. You could do what my husband did to me... Laugh and hug me tight and say " Honey I love you when you ask silly questions" If she gets upset just tell her that you are totally attracted to her and then stress "it's your body If YOU feel fat join a gym I love you no matter what" That's what my husband did to me, at first I was upset about it but logically he was right!! or if you think she will get to upset you can do what all the normal men do and lie "No Honey you look great"

It depends. If she has a few extra pounds, but lives a healthy lifestyle, you should tell her that she looks beautiful. Chances are that she needs your support and encouragement to feel confident about her body. Or, if she isn't very healthy, tell her that you love her no matter how she looks but if she wants to feel better about herself, the two of you should go work out as a couple. Good Luck.

I am not married. But I think the above answers are pretty good.

I guess you could also say something like "I think you may have gained a few pounds." Of course, it depends on the woman. She may just be fishing around for something to get mad at you over.

If she is overweight to an unhealthy degree, lying to her about her looks isn't going to help her to get into shape. To take a more tactful approach however, try telling her that you're concerned about YOUR fitness level, tell her that you'd love to spend more time together, and ask her if she'd be willing to work out together or go running with you. After all, that's only fair - you can't expect her to change her habits if you won't help her. This way, she's getting healthy, but without you hurting her self-esteem in the process.

First of all....that is such an unfair question for any woman to ask of her husband! It puts him in a very awkward situation. The poor devils have enough trouble figuring us out without us intentionally setting them up! LOL

I have, in the past, asked that of my husband and his startling reply was..." I don't care what size you are! But, if you have to ask, you already know the answer." He was right, I knew. I just wanted to know if it mattered to him as much as it did to me.....and it didn't. That was the first and last time I "set him up"!!

I guess you could respond with "Why do you ask?" That's what I do when I don't want to answer someone's querie.

Good Luck!

Depends on your wife's personality. Truth is, she already knows. Maybe she is wondering if she's attractive to you. Answer according to her personality. How would she answer the same question coming from a dear friend?

There is no good answer. Two of the worst are:

1) Yes
2) Outta the way porky, the game is on!

Tell her that you're concerned about her health and it would make you worry less if she lost some weight and offer to help by excercising with her --- which is what you should be doing.
