What kind of camera ( or is it the film? sorry, I'm not too tech savvy ) can I use to get that old, scratchy ( or soft) look? Like from the 70's or earlier?
Here is an example:

Her photos have that old look to them. I'd really love to achieve that, but don't know where to start. Any help is seriously appreciated!

I think her look in photoshop however the contrast reminds me of a scanned poloroid photo.

Whatever is posted on her sight has that high contrast look, however she did it. I believe that they are second generation images.

discuss? email me

You can start with a 35mm camera. Not a disposable one. Get some black and white film. Take some pictures. When you go to get the film developed, dont go to wal-mart or meijer, go to a real photo shop and get them developed. it may be a little more pricey but the results are worth it.

you'll need to use a photoshop program or a darkroom. Prints don't just turn out like that when you pick them up from Walgreens.

there really isnt that much to how she got the scratchy look to her pictures. its poor quality lighting. it makes images grainy. probobly a low iso.
