How much medication do I give?

I am watching a little girl who has to take medication. Her mom told me her dosage was changed to 1000 milligrams instead of 750 milligrams. The pills are 750 milligrams. How am I suppose to give a 1000 milligrams?

I don't see a safe way of giving the medication with the pill I'm provided.

You are correct and kudos for being cautious. There is no safe way to give this med. As others have said, you would need to give 1/3 of a tablet in addition to a full tablet. There is no easy way to split a tablet in thirds. Call her parents and tell them you don't feel safe doing this.

break a 750 pill in to 3 pieces. add one 1/3 pill to a 750 ml dosage.
750 divided by 3 is 250.
250 plus 750 is 1000

Try giving her the entire bottle of 750 milligram tabs. See waht happens. If she dies tell the parents that its all the parents fault and run away avoiding the police. Then when its safe, change your identity and live a perfectly normal life. =)

I have to give my younger cousin medication all the time because she has ASHD. And she has the same problem and her doctor told her mother to give her one pill and cut another pill in half and then give her the half. So she would talk 1 1/2 of a pill... OK?

Definitely call the parents. They may have mispoke or you may have missunderstood. It's not normal to cut tablets into thirds.
