My brother went on it, and it affected him big time. He became depressed, and eventually went on anti-depressants. Also, you have to get bloodwork done every month to be sure that it isn't affecting your liver functions.

I think so, although I haven't used it my mother did and she had no side effects. I myself am getting on the treatment. And they say that depression is not actually proven to be a result of the treatment. Just a theory they have, you know how it is. Anyways as long as you don't get pregnant a little drier skin and blood work once a month is better than getting depressed when you look in the mirror and see acne. And besides acne can also cause dry skin so what's the difference? I recommend you start it.

My son went through the treatment, but we used the generic form of Accutane. It was cheaper, and our insurance only covered generic brands. He had wonderful results. He had to have blood tests every month to make sure there was no damage from the medicine, but he cleared right up. He did have to use a moisturizer for his lips. They tended to dry and crack very easily. He also could not be in the sun for long periods or he would get a bad sunburn, but we are glad we went through the regimen.

As someone who has been on it before, I would advise against it. To be honest though it did work for me, and cleared it all up, but there's still questions about long term effects that never got mentioned to me. If I had it to do all over again I'd just stick with those face cleaner pads and it'll go away in time anyway.

I remember getting my make up done for the prom. The artist had the most beautiful skin I have ever seen. She told me that in HS, she was horribly affected with acne. But, she used Accutane to clear it.
This was in 1991. Does that tell you anything about how beautiful her skin was?
