93 subaru impreza wagon or a 2000 dodge stratus. The wagon is a 5sp, the stratus is AT. Both have power everything and both have 143,000 miles.

Please tell me why you choose one over the other. I am looking at purchasing these two models (used) today. I am only getting one. The stratus also has some minor parking lot damage.

Thank you

Go with the Subaru Impreza. It is way better quality. The Dodge stratus may look nice but they have lots of problems. Just maintain the vehicle and it will last. If you need more info or if you could provide me with service records I can give you more info.

Depends on the price, Both are reliable autos, I work at a local auto shop and have seen the dodges with 200k plus and have heard the Subaru have the same, I have driven a Stratus for a week, and found it to be a good car, good mileage and handling (saved my a-s one time) and seemed to be put together well, Also repairs on the Dodge will be cheaper. Subaru parts are more expensive.

Boils down to which is the better deal...On the dodge I'd discount the price for the body damage.

When Dealing with the dealer be tough don't be a sheep, hold your ground and stand firm on the price.

I would go with the stratus. I really don't like subarus I think they are hideous. You might want to think twice about purchasing these though because 143,000 miles is A LOT! Especially if they are city miles. You are going to have trouble with either car because of the high miles and they wont last long.

I'd recommend the Subaru. Those cars are very durable, and if properly maintained can last several 100K miles. Check the Subaru's maintenance records for the last time the timing belt and CV joints were replaced, or have a mechanic check these items.

Personally I would choose the Subaru any day. Much more proven cars and 4 wheel drive. Plus Dodge motors have all ways been known for head gasket problems.

I put 5 transmissions in a Dodge once, then bought a Pontiac. It had computer problems. So now I only buy Japanese cars.

I'd have to make a hard decision here. Both are good makes. I guess I'd have to go for the Subaru because I love 'em!
