The terms are used almost interchangeably everywhere. But theoritcally, a software developer creates the design structure based on the problem findings report sent out by the software analyst (another common term) and programmer just implements the code based on the design structure created by the software developer.

In reality, such fine level of distinction is not made on these roles, so just relax.

They are more or less interchangable terms, but "software developer" is much more general.

There are some people who design and work on programs, who do not actually write the program code. These people are still called software developers.

software developer job includes both designing and developing which by default includes programming and the job of programmer is to just program and configure it!!

CS can make you a game developer. There are many branches of CS. Game Development is one of it.
