seeing as you posted this question, you already know the answer. it's a really bad idea. unless you are getting it for like $4200, as rough book from black book is $9000 for a gt and $6500 for a v6. i'm assuming its a v6 and with those miles you should cut black book in half and add about $1000 for dealer profit. a warranty would cost another $2000, so its a bad call. how is the rest of the car? is it clean? the miles are likely highway which is good, but i'd stay away personally.

I have a 2003 Ford Mustang, and it is a really good and fun car. But mine only has 31,000 miles on it so I don't know how it is when it gets worn out. I know that fords don't have a good reputation once they get into the higher miles but as long as it has been well taken care of and had all its scheduled maintenence done on time you should be alright. Remember though that mustangs are different from normal cars. Put only 5W-20 synthetic blend oil in that car and if I were you I'd fill it with only midgrade gas or higher. Mustangs are great cars you will have so much fun with it!

Sounds like a lot of highway miles. If this is the case, the car should still be in good shape. Highway miles are not as hard on a vehicle as the start/stop of city driving.
I would not have a problem buying a car with 110k highway miles, but you need to make sure it wasn't really owned by a pizza delivery guy who worked 12 hrs. a day.

Test drive it. get the RPM's up on it. listen to the engine when you rev it up.. if after you do this look under the car look for oil...and if there isnt any and the engine doesnt sound like its having trouble running. then its up to you. i have a 2002 V-6 Stick shift and i love it. tends to eat the tires quick and really peels out extreamly easy without even tryin..... mine had 25k when i got it and now has 60k only oil chaing and tires so far. the AC is actin up though the past couple days. and who ever had it before me blew the mach stereo up and blew all 6 speakers. but as for you and the 110k mile mustang... i would look around first and see what else you can get cuz a 2002 isnt that pricy at all

That's a lot of miles. in my opinion your gonna lose $ cuz there are so many miles on the car. people look at the miles, condition, and how well it was kept. miles plays a big part in a decision. the car is also getting to the point where it might need a lot of things to be fixed. It doesn't seem like a good deal to me.

I have a 2001 mustang I bought with 19k on it, It now have 211k on it and I have never done anything to it other than oil changes and tires, and brakes at 155k, depends on how it was taken care of in the past, I wouldn't be afraid to buy it if the car looks like it has been cared for.
I love my Mustang and when I retire this one I will buy another, they are cheep fun. Good looks, sporty, soild not a tin can, Mine has the v6 has good power, 30 mpg, cruise at 100mph at 3000 rpm, handles like it's on rails.,,, what more could you ask

no, I wouldn't. that is A LOT of miles for a 2002 especially for a ford. my 2002 civic only has 72k miles. I had a mustang before and they are not the most reliable cars. but your choice

Only if you want to lay out a lot of dough. It's probably pretty worn out with that much mileage. You should get a full, independent mechanical inspection and see how much it would cost you for all repairs that might be needed. Still, that's pretty high mileage.

This is a judgment call that only you can answer. Do what you want. You haven't mentioned any other factors except mileage, so how do you expect to get an answer?
