There are so many things that could bring civilization to its knees both man-made and natural. Is it possible for the human race to move on after being hit by a major catastrophic event? Would some countries be hit harder than others?

Depends on how big and how widespread the catastrophe is. Most likely some countries would be hit harder than others.

A really bad disastier--saay a large asteroid hitting earth--could conceivably bring down our entire civilization. But humanity would recover if there were any survivors--though it might take centuries.

Granted, a big enough disaster could wipe us out entirely--but if humanity does vanish, its far more likely we'll do it to ourselves with nuclear and/or biological weapons.

there's no definitive information that a single episode wiped out the Dinosaurs 65m 365 days in the past. in fact many human beings Dinosaurs at the instant are not extinct on account that birds are seen specialized Theropod-form dinosaurs. some dinosaurs have been feathered. Dinosaurs have been on the wane during the latter component to the Cretaceous. This has alot to do with the wreck-up of a former super continent and linked variations in climate, vegetation and invasions with the aid of different animals from distinctive continents throughout land bridges. presented disease would have been a element. some Dinosaurs had grow to be over-specialized and much less adaptive to alter. Anything is possible. But without a scenario it's kinda hard to say. Regardless, I can't imagine ANY catastrophe that could wipe out EVERYONE. Just one 300 person community would be plenty to start over.
