I know that water is necessary to the human body, but sometimes a day passes by without me drinking any water; I usually just drink some hot chocolate when I'm thirsty..

Would I get sick from doing that ?
Or is it ok for my body and health ?

Thanks in advance =)

It's not going to kill you, but your body will not run as efficiently as it would if it were well hydrated and it's harder on the kidneys. as for Gsqueezes idea of it causing heart conditions you would have to be severely dehydrated, atherosclerosis is not caused by dehydration and although dehydration can significantly raise your blood sugar it does not cause diabetes. Yes all the water you get from foods and other drinks contribute to your bodies need for water, remember that anything with caffeine in it counteracts the benefit of the water in the product, so if you drink decaf tea you can count the water in it towards your daily need, but if you drink tea with caffeine, you really can't count it because the caffeine is a diuretic and chocolate has caffeine in it. One last thing about hydration, the better hydrated you are, the less water your body will retain, you wont be bloated and you could take off as much as five pounds of water weight by drinking the daily amount you need.

You get water in your food as well. The 8 cup recommendation is actually a mis-statement/oversight of the original recommendation which is a certain amount of water per calorie of food. It's a ratio. Given proper food intake, it comes out to about 8 cups of water a day, most of which is included in the food.

'"1ml per kcal energy expenditure for adults living under average conditions of energy expenditure and environmental exposure" - thus a person eating 2900kcal would require 2900ml of water.(v)
. . .
"An ordinary standard for diverse persons is 1 milliliter for each calorie of food. Most of this quantity is contained in prepared foods." Valtin proposed that the last sentence may not have been heeded, and the recommendation was therefore erroneously interpreted as eight glasses of water to be drunk each day.'

Any liquid counts as hydration unless you're drinking something with a lot of caffeine, which is a diuretic. Hot chocolate isn't quite like coffee in that regard.

However, in general, water is a very good thing to drink. It provides the medium for toxins and other things to move through (and move out of) your system. Given the high sodium content of many modern foods, I'd say it's better to be safe and drink some extra water just to be sure you're properly hydrated and balanced. And if you eat a higher amount of protein, you definitely want an increased amount of water to help your kidneys out.

So long as the total fluid intake is sufficient and u r not getting dehydrated, it is ok. U r however likely to get overweight in the process as u r replacing zero calorie food with heavy calorie drink.

Eat nourishing food with plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables being part of it. Chew each morsel at least 32 times. This will activate signal to the brain as soon as u have had enough. Besides this change in eating style, take regular light exercises and brisk walks every day. U will be able to gain/shed all extra weight gracefully and in a reasonable time span.

The body is made up of water, we ALL need it to replace what is lost every day. While you do get some water from other liquids, nothing can replace it. Drink water every day, you body needs it to work efficiently.

You have to drink plenty of water everyday. It is very important to your health. Your bladder and kidneys need water. Please at least try to drink 4 glasses daily. The required amount is 8. You must drink water. If you don't like the taste then try flavor waters. Also selzter with no sodium is excellent because it's carbonated and puts you in the mind of drinking soda.

I've myself have replaced the water for milk because it tastes more smooth and doesn't taste dry like many other cupcakes o and about your other question you don't need to boil it, better not to.

Nothing can replace water. Not even the water in vegetables, your body needs water in its pure form. Replacing water with milk or hot chocolate will lead to either diabetes, a heart condition, arteriosclerosis, or all the above.
