I personally believe that global warming is the best thing for this planet as it would wipe out the virus that this planet has, us humans!! Then maybe mother nature will have a chance to recover from our wake. I would really like to hear some other views on the matter.

Sort of agree with you there. Maybe Global Warming is the humans end to existance like Dinosaurs and others before Humanity started. We're just like aliens named as Humans like Martians on Mars or wherever. Everything has its time and everything ends so I sort of agree with you about wiping us out as something new will start. However, I'm not sure its the best thing because if we destory the earth as Ice burgs callopse and the climate is getting warmer then what would actually exist after us. Nothing really unless things that can stand the climate and technology which is part of humanity and actually makes the world step forward wont be happening because of our inexistance. So I think rewording your question might be wise becuase I and others may belive its not best for the planet.

It strikes me sometimes that we are more akin to a cancer in that we don't really try and preserve our host, just reproduce at an exponential rate using all available resources and create identical replicates of shopping centres, cars, music and fashions all over the world. If we were a virus at least we would have the decency to leave the host alone after a while.

It's true that GW will case massive disruption and hardship to humans, but I would be surprised if we are wiped out completely. Humans are born weak but our strength is in our incredible adaption through invention and ingenuity, and I am confident that someone will be in the right place at the right time to start again and probably very rapidly re-populate the planet (no teenage fantasies please).

I would rather think that we can come to a better understanding between humans and humans, and humans and nature without having to start again, and if we could just tweak our use of accrued wisdom and knowledge in the pursuit of greater things than money and power then we might achieve this. So I disagree with your point of view that it is the best thing for the planet. I am not ready to throw in the towel yet.

Also, if we really screw it up and end up with a Venusian-like atmosphere with sulphuric acid rain then it possibly is "game over" for life on earth, so err... I want to avoid that.

Global warming would happen whether we are here or not. We are too big-headed to think that we can cause this. Throughout the lifetime of Planet Earth, how many global warmings and global coolings happened? Probably loads. It is getting warmer because that is what is happening. Of course it is a threat to us, but that doesn't matter because the Earth is much bigger than us. Remember, once this planet was ruled by dinosaurs!!! We are mere nothings!!!

In my opinion, global warming is not good for this planet. Why? Because global warming will destroy humans' environment though we try to make Earth a better planet to live in. Meanwhile, scientists try to protect the planet from global warming, civilians make it worse because they never try to check out their cars for tune up or buy a new car. Also, humans burn fuels to produce heat, but they don't know that what they are producing are CFC's that damage the ozone layer without working together to stop the production of CFC's.

Despite all the dire prophesies about global warming it will have some benefits. The earth was warmer than it is today in the early Middle Ages, when parts of the Tundra regions of Northern Europe, Asia, and America were fertile and habitable. Over the centuries the Earth warms and cools, and we are heading into a warmer period. It will not last.

Global warming is a bad ting for the planet, as it is causing changes too rapidly in the environment. This does not allow enough time for animals and plants to adapt to the changes.

First, why are you so down on yourself. But given that, why do you think global warming is likely to wipe out humanity. We have been through much worse and survived.

this finished "international warming" phenomenon is a farce created by technique of politicians to help them line their wallet with Al Gore being the chief of the %.. extremely that there is a shown cycle of international warming and cooling that occurs by using the years. The lie is this cyclic interest is brought about by technique of guy--that isn't the case. international Warming as made by technique of guy isn't a scientific certainty, that could be a concept it fairly is extremely debated. don't have self assurance each thing you pay attention on the information.

If you hate penguins too, go for it.

Would it wipe out humans? No. The hottest places on earth are also those with the greatest human population growth. Humans can survive in extremely hot weather, thanks to our conquest of technology like air conditioning and GMOs that are only edible to humans.

But I like people anyway. You're not that bad, and you don't want to die, do you?

Personally, I prefer the artic snow to the bloody jungles that people call rainforests. If you really want to wipe us out, try global freezing instead.
