5 dollars sounds good. if you don't like the cut tip lower or don't tip @ all. if you really like the way your hair looks 8 dollars is a good amount to tip.

tip her assistant two if she has one.
if she did the whole job and did a great job consider
20% which would be $10.
remember, your level of tipping may affect things in the future
like whether she will squeeze you in on short notice etc.
