hi again, first off, I work in a salon. My bother who is 13yrs older than me also does hair and my mother did hair and her uncle-our great uncle, i guess! Hair literally grows 1/2 inch per month. Most ppl get this confused thinking its an inch b/c they look at their hair and see an inch---its a half inch on both sides of any part---making the illuision your hair grows an inch. Your hair being thick already will continue to be thick as it grows out. The myth that it will get thin and stringy is common. Only a myth though. Most of our clients get a cut every 6 to 8 weeks. I personally think every 2 or 3 months. it will look healthy and nice, if you have a good/great designer. I mostly do color/highlights b/c i specialize in it at a Paris Parker Aveda Salon in Louisiana. This is pretty much the dead give away along with learning the facts in hair school(Lockworks/Aveda Institute)how long or fast hair grows within a month. Most die hards who get all over color come in once a month---half and inch to touch up on. As far as highlights are concerned 6-8wks...3/4 to an inch of regrowth by this time.If you are consistant, you will be able to grow out your hair at least 4-6inches w/in a yr.Sounds like a long time, but well worth it if that is what you want. I would say you will have accomplished what you want in a yr and a half for best results of trimming and it being healthy and long passed your shoulders to the middle of you back. Good luck sweetie! sincerely, maria~

The hairdressers support that the best thing to do is to cut them once every three months so the hair to become stronger by cutting the ends only 1cm. I hope that this help :)

you're supposed to cut it every 4-6 weeks. if you plan on keeping you hair short thats fine, but, if you want to grow out your hair you should get it trimmed every 6-10 weeks so it grows without split ends.

Depends on it's condition, the style, sometimes your job. Usually every 6 to 8 weeks to keep a hairstyle in proper shape.
