I have an 8 month little boy who is cruising around anything he can get his hands on. He also can sit down from the standing position, and can crouch and pick up a toy while holding onto the couch with one hand and remain standing. He start really crawling, well, about 3 weeks ago. It seems like he was pulling up even before he could crawl well. He also is very active and ALWAYS on the move; he pulls up and sits down and cruises all day long, constantly it seems. My question is, for you moms who have/had the same kind of child, can you give me a guess on how long he will cruise before taking his first steps? Before he will walk? He is very brave and has absolutely no fear...just FYI. Any experienced mom have a good guess? I was simply not prepared for the progression to go this quickly; I thought he would crawl for a while before attempting to walk. I don't have a babygate or anything!!! LOL :)

both of my fearless boys walked early - 9 months. i don't remember much cruising, maybe a week or so for both of them. get a baby gate quick. just wait till he's climbing on your kitchen chairs:) it's constant watching from here on out. good luck.

Mine also didn't really crawl until he cruised. And it took about a month from cruising to walking. He will now take around three steps, farther than that he crawls. However if he is walking and gets distracted he just stops and stands there, it is so funny. He could probably walk all over the place he just hasn't realised it yet ;-)

He also likes to stand and bounce up and down without holding things.

He just turned 10 months yesterday and has been walking for about a week and a half. (Oh FYI large rubbermain bins with stuff in them make great baby gates temporarily)

My son took his first steps at 10 mos, and was walking all over within 2 weeks.
He also was all over the place. He did this silly wounded army crawl all over from about 4 mos-about 7 mos. At 7 mos he started to sit, crawl, pull up on furniture and start climbing the stairs.
This was a crazy month for me because he hadn't even sat yet!!! I guess this goes to show you every child is different. Although, your boy sounds a lot like mine, ready to get movin. My advice is enjoy every moment of his development and don't worry about what is around the corner. Have fun with that little guy!!!
