I am going out with this incredible guy but somehow I keep on dreaming about my ex, I don't know why. I don't think about him anymore or like him and I have called my boyfriend three times by the name of my ex, it just comes out of me mouth. When that happens I just tell him I have a friend name like that, he doesn't know that's my ex's name.

Well the situation u are facing is normal. Your self is asking u to discuss ur previous experience with ur current partnet. Thats the reason u are saying the name again and agin,It not like u are diverted from ur current and dont think that there is some pysic wid u thinking about ur ex. Its totally normal. Its a simple fact that U loved ur ex and its was an attachment which cannot be broken so easily...jst chill wid ur current BF and if u think discuss wid ur Boyfrnd about ur past if u feel comfortable.
To be wid ur present BF, try to give him ur time and behave the way he remains to be wid u...
and keep asking this kinda question. this is make u remember that u had an ex and ur present BF is good and u want to be wid him :)

If you keep dreaming about him and his name comes out of your mouth, I'd say you still have some unresolved feelings for your ex. Even though you say you are over it, something still lingers about him inside of you. It shows that you haven't fully moved on yet. I would wait to get into a serious relationship until you are really ready.

Its probably just habbit... especially if you were with your ex a long time. I experieneced this when I left a long-term relationship and it eventually went away. Don't think it is some Fraudian slip or sub-conscious desire. Its just probably what you got used to.
BTW: Now that I have a child, I start calling people the wrong names all the time! lol

that could get u in trouble, well the reason is because u havn't fully got over ur ex yet. u r trying to move on too fast, at times like that it would be best i u could take some times off datings just to figure out what u really want. i sometimes dream about my first bf too and i sometimes end up saying his name when trying to focus on someone else. it happened to me too, but i think now i getting over him because i m trying to erase his face the memory of him in my life. sometimes i think of him as if as he was dead. now that i meet somebody new i will put my focus on him to see where the relationship will go.

I do the same thing. I hate it, but can't help it. Don't worry, you probably have sub-conscious thoughts about the relationship, not necessarily him.
Maybe you should find closure with your ex and the dreams will stop.

You didn't find closure with him or something was left unsaid, and until you get something out of your system that has to do with him, you won't find closure.
