Does anyone know of any software that will simultaneously capture AND compress 1hr of video into either an AVI or MOV 320x240? Or is this impossible? Thanks!

You do need the right codecs installed on your system for the various formats. For example, h.264 requires x264 or a similar encoder. Mpeg-4 requires the XviD or DivX encoder. Etc.

Amcap can do it I think. see 1st link. You can try it for free and its $19 to buy. The free one stops and asks for a donation after 20 minutes according to users.

If you would like to record and real time compress videos or online TV, you can use oripa video recorder. If you record your screen activity, you can use oripa screen recorder.
