Same reason I do; low glucose levels - and the body will take a while to break down what you finally eat if you haven't eaten for a while.

I found the best way to keep those nasty headaches (and non-migraine sufferers don't understand how debilitating a nauseating headache and sickness can be...) at bay is to always carry a pack of glucose sweets (best are Lucozade lozenges, but even fruit pastilles would do) with you - they're the only thing the body can absorb fast enough to bring the sugar levels back up and avert the migraine.

I got loads when I worked shifts somewhere very strict; now I work in an office where I can nibble a biscuit or something every hour or two between meals and that seems to have helped no end.

Also drink plenty of water if you feel one coming on and don't over-exercise on an empty stomach.

Your blood sugar is low. You are causing your body to work real hard, thus the migraines.

Sugar low. You could also be dehydrated so try a glass of water.
