Fibreglass for the basic board with a thin sheet of copper glued to it. When the PCB is etched to make the circuit, most of the copper is etched off.

In the old days, instead of fibreglass a resin bonded paper material was used.

PS If I remember correctly, the chemical used to etch off the copper is Ferric Chloride.

there are a few methods can be used....like etching...for this u will need a acid...unfortunately i cant remember the name....I'll give you the name when i find out
