Voltarol helps but I would not rely on it regularly - you need a good chiropractor to adjust the spine and teach you @ posture and lifting techniques - ALWAYS use your arms and mostly thighs in lifting - particularly off a low level. Always have a cushion or pillow behind your lower back when sitting or have base of spine right up against seatback. Put pillow under knees if lying on back or between knees if lying on either side - makes a big difference whern you get up as upper leg will not be pulling on the spine. I'm speaking re lower back as most common pain - I guess upper is about support and building up muscle strength too.

i suffered from acute sciatica for over 3 years and tried everything from a chiroprator, accupuncture to all the available drugs in the end all my lower back and right leg we completely numb all the time, my doctor said that surgury was the only option left when a friend suggested reflexology i made an appointment and its was fantastic and after 4 sessions it has completely gone and has stayed that way for over a year now, im like a new person and it only cost me around a £100 in total. i do hope that helps you as i know how horrid it can be, good luck.

Yes i have used voltarol to treat back pain..It is an anti-inflammatory drug commonly prescribed for back pain and aching joints. sadly it did not agree with me,causing me severe nausea (one of its possible side effects). If you do not suffer from its side effects it is very good and may help you... I hope you find relief from your problem....good luck.

if the pain is persistant and runs down yor leg consult a doctor and get a MRI, to find out exactly what is wrong. Take it from someone whose had 2 operations and don't take it lightly. Last operation was around $40,000, if you include time lost from work and the mental anguish sufferd has no monetary amount.

My husband has suffered from Sciatica for 3 years, he took Gabapentin and Diclofenac, but the best thing we found were the heat pads that you wear around your waist and a TENS machine.
I assume you have seen your GP?

My mum used it for a bad elbow and it helped a lot.
It's a bit like Neurofen gel, but more effective.

Possible reasons why you feel backpain:
bad posture; your bed is not that comfy; you're doing strenuous activities; you don't eat foods that has enough calcium(for strong bones). i just recommend that you avoid these. =) i hope i was able to help. =)
