It's perfectly understandable that Christians are 'clumped' into one category. Do you pay particular attention as to whether a Muslim who offends you is Sunni or Shiite?
Are you aware of whether the people who "offended" most of the world's population on September 11th were followers of Wahhabism Salafism, Qutbism or any other Islamic movement? No, like most people, you simple refer to 'those' people as Muslims. This isn't rascist or discriminatory, it's simply ignorant, so rather than focussing your question on your own faith, it might make more sense to broaden the question to encompass your own ignorance and simply ask why people tend to judge others without attempting to understand their motives.

I was born a Roman Catholic from an Irish family and there are certainly many things about my family's faith that I abhor, not least the continual, devastating stance of the papacy with regards to contraception which, if altered, could save millions of lives.

The current wave of evangelical Christianity in the United States is very worrying and given the fact that the president of the USA speaks as though he is acting in the name of God and is advised by Christians of extreme right political persuasion, I think it's quite understandable that so many people, particularly non-christians who have no real interest in studying the theology of your chosen faith in order to understand their own political landscape, should be offended by that. The fact that the banner Christian is employed is incidental, it's simply a way of distinguishing that Western religious extremism is very much alive although perhaps not yet as in our faces as Muslim fundamentalism, although the reasons for that are not related to religion, they have more to do with the distribution of wealth and the current political climate wherein leaders of the "Christian" West are currently stealing their resources. It's perfectly normal that those who are being bombed, robbed of their wealth and who are losing their homes and family members at war do not pose the question "I wonder whether these people are Baptists, Lutherans or Catholics?"

I try always to remember that the vast majority of Christians are not of that selfish sort that we're seeing and hearing from a lot these days, the kind that think their faith is entitled to a superior status and would take away the right of others to worship or not worship according to their consciences. Those are the only Christians who offend me, and they offend their more fair-minded Christian siblings too.

What a rant and yet you nevertheless can not see what reasons the backlash against christianity? all the different religions and atheists stay in peace and are in simple terms attacked with the aid of undesirable christians which reasons all stable christians to melancholy on the wear and tear they do! Up until approximately 40 years back Christianity replaced into thriving and there replaced into no conflict with others yet in in simple terms those few short years the in demand christians have become illiberal, hate crammed, bigoted and persecuting ensuing in a starting to be backlash against christianity and inflicting christianity to unfastened over ten p.c. in below a decade with the loss accelerating! The self destruction of Christianity is underway and the only undertaking that could quit this is to desert the poor human thoughts, look for to rediscover the belief of a loving god and act like it

Don't let anyone offend you. If a Christian judged you or offended you, just realize it is because they are under the control of their religious doctrine and they probably wouldn't have said or acted upon it otherwise.

If it was something less religious and more personal, I'd say don't let anyone represent their race or religion in your mind. Stay free from that sort of control.

In my opinion:

Christians are all clumped together, because they share a common belief, despite the different denominations. They believe in the one and only God and salvation through Christ.

Sadly, most humans tend to stereo-type a group of people by just one black sheep's behaviour, especially if they had been badly offended by the black sheep.

I think this is quite a common behaviour for which the Chinese have a saying that describes the behaviour.

I have two categories. The first is the human Christian who are, well, human. They see people as people and are not preachy, least not to much. Then there is the "Creepy" Christian who offendes even other Christians.

why do you think we do? one christian ruins the whole crowd of ya and yet i have christian friends too but i try my darnest to put christians into two groups the fundies and the liberals but yet even some of the liberals act like fundies and some fundies act like the liberals so heres what i think of your question.

ignorance isnt a good thing and i think you need to really read your bible from cover to cover and then i want you to look at your religions history and understand where non christians are coming from and you must also understand that people are people no matter who you are but when a christian says that a fundie isnt a true christian or a liberal is going to hell its almost like your not thinking clearly about what is and isnt a true christian and a fake christian. a christian is to follow the teachings of jesus but yet some christians qoute paul who has never met jesus and two you also qoute john who also never met jesus either. christians have in the past banned accounts of non christians and have also personaly attacked non christians in public and on this site and yet we dont know who are the real christians and who are fake christians.

I am not at all offended by Christians, only when I have someone screaming at me that the world is going to end, and I had better accept Jesus, or that I am going to hell.

But as a rule, I try to be open minded toward all religions and try to learn as much as I can about each and every one.
