Honestly, what difference does it make? I have cats that sleep on the top of my car, but there are stray dogs in the neighborhood so it makes sense that they want to be out of a dog's reach. Why do the cats bother you so much? Car engines are warm when the car comes home, that is part of the appeal, too.

Cats seem to be attracted to my car more in the fall and winter time because it's a place to keep warm. There probably isn't a way to keep them off unless you can keep it in a garage. Get a car cover or a large tarp if you don't like it.

That's interesting. The only reason I can think of cats sleeping on the car is the heat from the engine. Maybe you could spray the non-harmful pet repellent on the part the cats sit on? Good luck!

The cats aren't laying on your car because of the color, they could care less about that. It's because it's warm and it's cold outside right now so it feels good. If you have a garage, park your car in there. Otherwise, not a whole lot you can do.

Well, I think it's because the car is really really warm after you drive so the cat is just trying to warm up. It IS cold outside. Get them a cat bed and he'll be able to cozy up in it.
