I don't consider Fred Phelps a Christ-follower, however he is a Paulist. Most people confuse the two: Jesus was love and forgiveness, Paul was fiery and paranoid. Quite a few "Christians" are really Paulists, and at least Phelps is honest about his homos - go - to - hell - hallelujah Paulist/OT hatefulness. He doesn't dress it up and pretend "a loving god sends you to hell" the way most "Christians" do.

He is no different than any other xian. He is just more vocal about it. Xians have a tendency to be hateful, xenophobic, homophobic, etc. etc. etc......

Any xian that denies Fred Phelps or Hitler is deluding themselves. The bible says all you have to do is accept Christ. It makes no mention of a personal relationship, that is just more deceptive xian word-play.

There is a difference between knowing Christ and following him. Even Satan Knows that Jesus is Lord.
The book of Acts states that Christians are to be known by their love. Let that decide it for you.
