Those are two different women. It is just plain Mary who is his mother. The other was the "prostitute" who became a follower of Jesus' teachings later in his life.

There are a number of Marys in the bible. Mary Magdalene is the most significant, based on the number of mentions in the gospels. She seems to have had some special relationship with Jesus according to the accepted gospels and there are gnostic gospels which suggest that she was physically intimate which would suggest that they were married. She was not the same person as the prostitute, although the that was a slander that the Roman church maintained for centuries because they feared the power of her story.

Mary the mother of Jesus is, by comparison, not that important, except to Luke (Matthew mentions her briefly, Mark only in passing, and John does not name her at all).

Mary was Jesus's real mother and Mary Maggeline was the whore that Jesus saved from being stoned to death! If u ever seen any movie or read the bible, u'd know that! But the only one who really knows for sure is God, Mary, Joseph, Mary Maggeline & Jesus... cause everyone else can think what we like, and believe what we want, but none of us were there!

God, I wish people would read the Bible. Mary Magdalene was NOT the mother of Jesus the Christ. There are about eight different Mary's in the New Testament. NOT all of them were prostitutes. Mary Magdalene wasn't a prostitute. Mary was even more common of a name back then than now. YBIC
