Ok-my dad and step mom are kind of old fashioned, so whenever I say, "We're going out now," they go, "What?" They call it dating, nothing else. They think: you as someone out on a date, and it's not "exclusive" until the couple talks. However, it's different today(as in, 2007). When someone says"Will you go out with me?" It means, you are boyfriend and girlfriend, and that you are 'goin out.' I am really getting sick of how everytime I mention my boyfriend my dad says, "You mean your friend that's a guy?" and laughs. They also say I am too young to have a boyfriend even though I'm thirteen and I've had two. So...are anybody else's parents d**k heads?

You parents are not d***heads, they are just worried about you and they are looking out for you. At thirteen, you are not too young to date but you are not experienced enough to know things your parents already know coz they have done that before when THEY were 13 and YES they were thirteen too once.
Just be sure when you go out that you trust your friend or friends and that you are comfortable with him. Never do something you don't want to do just to please your friends. Be yourself and have lots of fun.

Your parents aren't being (what you said) lol. They are trying to encourage you to not be exclusive at such a young age. When I was younger going out was exclusive also. My parents encouraged my sister and I to not be exclusive in similar ways.

I doubt there is a teen out there that is not dealing with this issue in someway.

My advice is to listen to your parents and try "dating" multiple guys at once. Thirteen is young and the chances of you finding the love of your life at this age is almost astronomical.

Maybe they just don't want to look up to the fact that you are old enough to get a boyfriend. Who knows they might just be trying to protect you.
