I just want some advice how to loose the love handles and ? I would like to get back to 55kg, but i find it really difficult. My mum says that I loose weight slowly because im slim already, but if anyone knows any good diets or exercies that work a bit faster and aim especially at love handles and tummy, please let me know. Thankyou all!!

Your current BMI is smack in the middle of the normal range. Your desired BMI at 5'7" at 55kg is scraping the low end of normal.

You're mum is correct. It will be harder for you to loose 7 kilos than for an obese person to loose the same weight, because its obviously a much higher proportion of your overall body mass.

You just mention looks. Not a mention made about wanting to be a bit healthier? Do you do any exercise?

Running will change your body shape like nothing else, I promise you that. Running burns around 100 calories per mile. It also improves core strength and tones your legs.

I think if your diet is already quite healthy, you just need to exercise a little to tone up a bit but don't go overboard and don't try to get under 55kg.

I'm afraid you can't lose fat off a particular isolated part of the body - the only way to reduce fat in a certain place is to reduce total body fat - I would suggest you incorporate some aerobic and toning/weight training - weight training will build some muscle (I'm not talking about bulking up) which will increase your metabolism - a heavier person will burn up energy than a less heavy person but two people weighing the same amount - one may burn up more because they have more muscle mass - this is why men tend to carry less fat and have higher metabolisms - because genetically they have a greater muscle mass- I know, sucks right. You could get yourself an exercise video and exercise ball - though yoga would also be a good option.

Don't get sucked into fad/quick working diets - they tend to burn more muscle (and water weight held in muscle) than fat and then you're left with a slower metabolism. Trying following a healthy eating plan - the word diet has become misconstrued to mean short lived - you need to think long term and I'm afriad it takes time to burn fat 3600 calories to burn off a pound. Eating regular, small healthy meals is your best approach - if you don't eat regularly enough this will play havock with your blood sugar (making you grab bad snacks) and if the body thinks it's going starved it goes into starve mode - this causes more fat storage - so don't be drawn into the world of the fad diet - low saturated fat, low sugar, complex carbs, lean protein and fibre - get you 5 fruit and veg in and make sure you drink enough water - will mistake hunger for thirst if we're already dehydrated. Most of all be sensible!

I started the gym and loved the cross trainer, i found that really worked on my love handles as well as toning up the rest of my body. If your already slim then i dont think you should diet, just take some excercise like i did and tone yourself up. Good luck x

Crunches. I know a doctor who has done crunches to transform his gut and love handles into hardened abdominals. It takes time and (from my experience) can hurt like hell if you try to many the first time. Depending on how fit you already are, I suggest five crunches every morning for the first week, ten the second week, fifteen the third, and so on until you reach a thirty-minute "crunch-out."
