They are both good workouts, although a motorized treadmill will help you keep up your speed better. A manual treadmill requires more effort to maintain your speed and balance also.

I would think that a motorized one would push you further as it would keep the speed constand.
If you were on a manual one if you slow down, you might not even realize you were doing so...
just a guess, I would think that there are some benefits to a manual one most notably expense.
