I don't even want to know the religion of the person who is running our country, as we are suppose to live in a political system that is neutral religiously, and who upholds the separation of Church and State. It is of the utmost importance that our government be neutral. The government just needs to follow the rules of the constitution, I don't care what religion or sexual orientation he is personally.

5.Buddhist - *
6. Hindu - *
7. Muslim - NO
8. Agnostic - *
9. Atheist - NO
10. Wiccan/Pagan - NO
* = It would depend on their political platform.
Evangelicals? No, have a real problem with fanatics.
Hindu/Buddist: No problem with that.
Muslims: I would be afraid of some kind of terrorist agenda or that whole horrible shiite law thing.
Atheists: I use to think Atheists were rational and logical, but since spending time here with all the rabid ones, no, could not take the chance and vote for them, anymore than taking the chance with a fundie.
Agnostics: They're not usually rabid so would have no problem with that.
Surprised you didn't mention Jews. Just so you know, I wouldn't have a problem voting for a Jew as long as their political platform coincided with my ideals.

Quick version first, then i'll get into it:
1. No
2. Yes
3. Yes
4. Yes
5. Yes
6. Yes
7. No
8. Yes
9. Yes
10. Yes
In short I believe that an evangelical christian would not agree with my politics as much as during his campaign, he would be influenced by the christian right too much once in office. The same for Muslim, but slightly different. In our current climate his office would be about his religion and not about his issues, I do not think he would be able to complete his political promises with such a burden upon his political career.
The other Christian denominations I feel aren't as politically "hot" right not and would not burden him extensively. Christian, Hindu or Buddhist if he started out with the politis I agree with I don't think they would sway him extensively and he would have a moral committment.
Atheist and Agnostic I would be rather keen to see in office, merely as a rational mind that feels not beholden to another organisation and can deal with their situations morally without being tied down by his church.
Finally a Wiccan president I would have no problem with whatsoever, it seems a very reasonalbe religion and wouldn't inhibit office any more than other religions.

YES I would vote for any of the above mentioned "labels", even though technically a couple are not religions. They are just labels--no more pertinent as whether a candidate is blonde, brunette, etc...? The important question is the candidate's qualifications and the genuine willingness to do the job well.

Yes to all religions if their political views and voting record matches my own closer than any other candidate running. I don't care what a person's religious views are or whether they lack belief in religion. I care about whether they are capable to do the job, what their stated views are on the issues and their voting record/experience. I also don't care what gender they are, what color their eyes are, what race they are, etc.

I would think long and hard before I would vote for an Evangelical Christian------Bush has given them too much free reign as it is----I am sick of them.
Any of the rest are fine to vote for.
You forgot to put a Jew on here------I would have no objections to a Jew as president.

Yes to all, so long, as you said, their political record matches my political beliefs.
It's amazing how many people really do vote according to religion. When JFK ran tons of people didn't vote for him because they were worried that would mean the Pope would be running the country, and now some people are throwing a stink about Mit Romney despite his clean political record. I wonder when it will stop.

i'll choose the Muslim candidate because he is the only one who is willing to promote peaceful co-existence among all the other groups!
it is part of the Islamic rulings to live peacefully with the other as long as this other did not wage a war against u , fair enough i think!
