Not cancer, but Toxic Shock Syndrome. TSS is rare but CAN be fatal, however, so talk to a doctor and know the symptoms.

No. There was an email scam out a few years ago saying that some tampons were filled with carcinogenic asbestos or something along those lines, but it was just a hoax.

Tip: if you ever hear how evilly bad something is for you, or about the latest threat to poor sweet innocents like you, don't live in fear; try looking it up on snopes.com...especially if you heard about it through email. There are a lot of common, stupid, urban legends that are very accurately researched (and usually debunked) on that site. If it's true, they'll tell you that too, complete with sources. It's a great site. Check it out.

As an RN, I have nevr heard of any case of cancer with the use of tampons. I have read several studies of tampons being assocaited with toxic shock syndrome, I fthis concerns use, you might consider using a pad

To answer, no they dont. If they did, there would be a lot more women with cancer.

No. They can cause toxic shock syndrome but not cancer.
