It depends on your maturity level. Hard times are a good way of making someone grow up quickly. I am 21 and I am engaged (getting married in April). you just want to make sure that you are engaged for a decent amount of time... that way you will be able to really tell if it is true love or just "lust" (^_^)

THINGS R NOT THE SAME AS WHEN UR PARENTS MET AND THEY WERE 18. U BOTH R 2 YOUNG 2 FEEL LIKE U WANT 2 B 2GETHER 4 EVER. HEY IT'S SWEET AND ALL BUT U NEVER KNOW HOW U R GOING 2 FEEL WHEN U TURN 21 AND ACTUALLY EXPERIENCE LIFE AS FAR AS 2 GOING OUT 2 CLUBS AND DOING THINGS U BOTH CAN NOT DO NOW AT THE AGE OF 18. U CAN B SO IN LOVE AND THINK IT'S GOING 2 LAST 4 EVER BUT NOTHING IN LIFE LAST 4 EVER. ALL I SAY IS CONTINUE TAKING IT ONE DAY AT A TIME AND SEE WHERE LIFE TAKES U BOTH. GOOD LUCK I WISH U BOTH THE BEST. BUT ALWAYS REMEMBER THERE IS A LOT MORE IN LIFE U WILL WANT 2 EXPERIENCE ONE DAY.

For some, it works. My husband and I have been together since I was 14 and now I'm 28. But you go through a time in your younger twenties and sometimes older where you realize that you may have grown apart. By that time you may have gotten married or have children. You want to know for sure before you end up getting divorced with children in the picture. There's no rush on things so just take things slow and enjoy life with him. If you make it through, then decide. Wish you the best of happiness.

no 18 is not to young. Some people are not mature at 18 and then no they should not get that serious but you sound like you have you head on right and know what you both want. And the fact that he is your best friend means alot. I hope that you have a wonderful life together.

Any age is to young to start thinking forever and ever! Nothing is forever, and although it feels like you love this person that much--stop trying so hard to predict the future! It seems that it is putting a lot of stress on the relationship, because you are even wondering it and would bring it to this forum. Remember love like you've never been hurt, live everyday like it is your last day, laugh at every joke, and learn like you want to be taught--stop worrying about the future and focus on making everyday the very best it can be!!!

yes, 18 is way too young. When your folks married at 18, lifestyles were very different then they are now. Wait until college, there are so many men, and you have so little time!!
Go have fun and party!!! You have the rest of your life, like the next 80 years to settle down!!!

You both will change in the next 10, 15, or 20 years and he will probably not be the person he is now. Wait until you are at least 25 before you marry.

18 is too young. You don't know who you're going to be in 5 years. People change so much in that period of time and a lot of times they grow apart. Don't get married for the sake of getting married.

Most of us have all been there at that age, from experience yes it is too young but of course I would have never realized that if I didnt go through the same thing. But it is still possible. Just dont get your hopes up.

God Yes! It's okay that you have someone that close to you NOW. People (especially guys) change a lot as they grow and experience life. Don't put too much into this relationship, just enjoy each other's friendship. Take it one day at a time and let it grow and mature as you mature. If it's still solid when your say, 81, it was meant to be.
