Flour, sugar, eggs, canned creamed soup different varieties. Rice, pasta, pasta sauce, canned tomatoes, tomato paste, tomato sauce, spices and herbs. Olive oil, vinegar, W/O sauce, soy sauce. Cake mix, pudding mix, jello. Peanut butter, Powder sugar, brown sugar. Canned veggies, Ketchup, mustard, mayo. Lemon juice. Butter, margarine
These are just some ideas. My best advice is for the first couple of weeks, make a daily menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner. This may sound stupid but it will tell you that "I need cream and sugar for my coffee and milk for my cereal." This will at least get you started for your first couple of grocery trips. Then when you get used to what the two of you need you then can do a menu for just dinner. One plan your menu around what is on sale. Two go through your kitchen after you have made your list and cross off stuff that you already have. This will prevent you from buying two jars of the same spice that is only used for one or two dishes that you prepare and it just sits there and collects dust. Get a good cookbook too. I have found as my staples are Betty Crocker and Better Homes and Gardens for the basics. Also check out food network and allrecipes.com.
GOOD LUCK
I hope that this helps.

People suggesting time outs and slapping hands need to get a clue. We're talking about a 15 month old baby. I guarantee you, he will never make the connection between a time out and the destructiveness. Hitting him will only make him more physically aggressive toward you and everyone else. This is a totally normal stage of toddler development that will pass if you don't let him know how much it upsets you. If he hits you while you're talking on the phone, you'll need to put down the phone, hold him still in your lap for a few minutes and say "we do NOT hit in this house" several times and as he relaxes, you relax your hold on him until he's ready to be put down. You have to do this over and over again until he gets the message, which can be tedious, but it is important. You have to model calm behavior even when it's very difficult to do so. Hitting or yelling let's him know that he's provoking a reaction and that exacerbates the problem. It would help if you had a cabinet in every room that he is allowed to get into and locked the rest. He needs to feel he has some control and be pulled back with loving authority rather than an emotional outburst when he's naughty.
