I think it depends on the mood at the time. I am anticipating marriage within the next year, and I have thought about that exact same thing. I am 43 years old and have never been married, although it has long been a desire of mine. When I finally make it to the altar, rest assured, it will be the most passionate french kiss I have ever dished out!!!

I'd say whatever you feel at the moment! If you guys are shy, you may keep it simple in front of people. Or it may be more fun to almost makeout quick, make everyone jealous and surprise them if it's something you wouldn't normally do! It's your day, but I do think a 5 minute makeout session and tongues down throats would be kinda rude to your guests... Keep it passionate yet classy and simple I guess!

When we got married, the pastor said to kiss at least 2 minutes so that everyone could get pictures.

Just FYI, in our service there was no announcement of marriage or you may kiss the bride, we just kissed quickly and turned around and walked out. You will want to make sure what you minister does, you may not even need to worry about it!

LOL We had a very short, somewhat open-mouthed kiss. It's your husband, you don't want to look like you're kissing your Great Aunt Mabel, but you also don't want to make out in front of Great Aunt Mabel

Hello! It only happens once. I say go ALL OUT!
(even if it is a second or third marriage, its the same principle)
But it is impolite if it lasts too long.
