I think if you are respectful when you ask your question, by and large you will get respectful answers in return. I am a very conservative Christian and I just read a query from a lady which was respectfully adressed to aethists. About 10 aethists replied with their points of view and they were respectful answers. I actually learned a lot that I hadn't considered before. Just realize that politics, religion and racism are very inflamatory subjects and you may have to weed out the haters to get to the rational answers. Good luck

Yes, it probably is rather silly for any of us to become inflamed about something like this. You can not change other people and they can not change you for the most part. Have a great day.
